This file is just the raw beats in my own words, so the language is loose in my mouth when the moment comes. The only beat I actively hold back is the closing request.


The beats (loose, so they sound like me)

Progression of accountability (the master frame) "The easiest way to understand my career isn't the industries — it's the progression of accountability. Every move took me closer to owning a whole outcome, not a bigger title."

Strategy was the foundation, not the destination (rides in on Track A — he hired me into strategy) "You hired me into strategy, and that turned out to be the foundation. But I realised early I wanted to own the outcomes, not advise on them."

Every move increased accountability, not title (rides in on the refinery story) "I originated the case for the refinery, then they asked me to go and deliver the thing I'd sponsored. Full board exposure, on the ground."

Integration is the constant (same story) "What it really tested was pulling capital, operations and people into one accountable result — which is the through-line of everything I've done."

What I'm looking for (rides in on Track C, inside the question I ask him) "A whole-business operating mandate — CEO or COO of an operating company, or an enterprise P&L with a visible path to the top job. What matters is that the mandate is real — I own an outcome, not a function. Sector-agnostic; scope first, then the number."

The one request — hold until he leans in

"If there's one thing I'd ask, it's this: judge me on the breadth of accountability I've deliberately built over twenty years, not on the industry of my last assignment."
